An earthly paradise of snow-capped peaks, turquoise-green rivers and Venetian-style coastline, Slovenia enriches its natural treasures with harmonious architecture and charming rustic culture. [lonelyplanet – slovenia]
Slovenia is indeed quite impressive. I didn’t get the chance to view the snow-capped peaks at the time I was there, but the diversity of landscapes is quite impressive for such a small country (at the widest, 2-hour drive max). From the sea-side Izola (prefer Piran) region to the Triglav National Park in the Julian Alps, Slovenia is definitely worth the visit. I’ve mostly met charming inhabitants all around the country. Even its capital Ljubljana is incredibly welcoming, with its city centre dedicated to pedestrians.
